Western Nevada College (WNC) offers
a two-year Associate in Science Registered Nurse Program. Students are prepared
to sit for the NCLEX exam for licensing. WNC's goal is to prepare student to
continue their education at a four-year college or university. Nevada State
College (NSC) - School of Nursing offers four types of Bachelor degree
programs. They offer a traditional Bachelor and part-time Bachelor degree
programs. NSC also offers an accelerated Bachelor degree program for students
who have a degree in a different major. The last type of program they offer is
an RN to BSN bridge program.
University of Nevada-Reno Orvis Nursing
Schools offer undergraduate and graduate degree programs. They offer the
traditional Bachelor degree program and an RN to BSN program. This university
offers several Masters and Post-Masters Certificate Program. Eligible students
are able to enter a Doctorate Program to prepare for leadership positions. University
of Nevada (UNLV) - Los Vegas educate students to become nurses to meet the
healthcare needs of Nevada. The university utilizes evidenced-based education
and research studies. UNLV is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate
Nursing Education and approved by the Nevada Board of Nursing. They offers
undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The Bachelor degree program is
preceded with pre-requisite classes and then four semesters of nursing core
classes. Students are then prepared to take the NCLEX-RN exam for licensure.
UNLV also has two Master's degree tracks, an educational track and a nurse
practitioner track. There are also Post-Master's Certificate Educational and
Family Nurse Practitioner programs and two doctorate programs.
